Have been catching up on the first few episodes of the new season of American Idol Season 6 and like past seasons, the most interesting and sometimes hilarious singing happens during those first few episodes. If you haven't seen them - check out clips at Youtube.

Speaking of Youtube, a growing number of singers are turning to Youtube to showcase their music, and some of them are pretty good. Some choose to sing with karaoke backups, while others play their own tunes. But please don't mistaken these with those other type of Youtube idols - the lip synchers.

Here's one I quite enjoy listening/watching to:

MaryAnne - her songs are mainly the Jazzy tune oldies like Mack the Knife, Diamonds Are A Girl's Best Friend and Fever to name a few. Taking advantage of the lack of bandwidth with Youtube, the slightly monotonish and scratchy feel makes the videos sound authentic and one things for sure - her karaoke discs for the tunes are pretty well recorded. Guess she's now into singing more than turning up at some Miss HorrorFest competition.
