My earthquake cherry was taken by this 6.3 tremor 50 km (30 miles) NNE of Padang, Sumatra, Indonesia.
I first felt it while in my boss's office going through a meeting. First it was the feeling of slight nausea, then I realised the shelves were swaying and followed by the chattering sound of the wood and metal shelves vibrating.
Surprisingly, the rest in the office just took it in stride and continued on with life. Where's my "EVACUATE YOUR BUILDING" now warning?
