Today is Shutdown Day

Today is Shutdown Day - where one goes offline for a day by switching of their computer of choice for the whole day. The intention is to get us off facing a monitor for one full day, especially for some like myself who works in front of the monitor and returns home nightly to catch Heroes or How I Met Your Mother.

So today, to join in this global initiative, my trusty old Quicksilver G4 Powermac is off. Since last night actually. Unusual for me as it usually be working his asses off grabbing bytes off the rest of the world.

However, since last night, the graphics card, or what i think is the graphics card, died on me and the Mac couldn't be booted up. After almost 6 long years, it finally refuse my touch and not give that loud Bong that our Macs greet us.

But after some good old detective work with my teacher-cum-Mac expert pal James, we manage to make it boot up again but with a blank screen.

So without another machine, i can't do remote control via VNC or set it on Target Mode for mounting. So, it's Shutdown Day, or maybe Shutdown Week.

ironically, I'm posting this with my mobile N80. So can one be really offline there days? Till next time when I have a proper machine. Posting with the mobile is a headache. Shutdown my friend.
