Spiderman 3

Ok - i've to say this - the movie - like this BK toy - sucks. Yes it cost almost 300million or maybe more. Yes the action and the CGI are pretty good. Yes they have the original casts for this third attempt.

But the story sucks.

I'm not a follower of the comic strip so am not sure whether this is a new storyline or adapted from the strip - but this movie clocked in at 140 mins ... 2 hours and 20 minutes too long.

But hey, Sony wouldn't mind since most box offices will probably hit jackpot with this movie. Opening yesterday on Labour Day holiday, most box offices recorded almost full capacity in most cinemas that shown the movie.

So what's wrong? Cramping 3 1/2 villains into one movie is no easy mean feat ... and 140 minutes to cover all of them was a hit and miss affair - with more misses than hits. Attempting to piece all these together within one movie wasn't well handled. There weren't enough time to match Spidey with the villains and how he handled them was quite abrupt.

So what's right? Action. Pretty much of the head against metal, head against wall, head against each other actions. There's so much banging that its surprising that you don't see much blood. The CGI for the Sandman and Venom plus ol'Spidey himself is pretty kick ass, especially the fight scenes between Spidey and Goblin JR, followed closely by him and Venom.

Anyway, though the story's full of holes and though the ending's predictable, it's still worth the $$ to catch it on the big screen, just to see the action.
